Why I chose to have a car in San Francisco
Having a car is a nice luxury which I chose to go with. You can definitely get around without one, but I personally like to visit other SF neighborhoods and venture outside of the city. If a neighborhood is more than a 2 miles away, then public transport isn’t the greatest option.
The only public transport stops we have in all the main neighborhoods are the MUNI buses. Taking a bus in SF takes about 30 mins to 1 hour just to get from A to B. Most locals tend to stay in their neighborhoods or whatever is nearby.
We also have a subway called the Bart. It’s a really great option for suburbians who wish to travel to the city once in a while for games, day trips, and events.
Having my Fiat has been a relief. It’s small, cute, and even has 4 seats! I can drive to Trader Joes anytime I want to and never have to worry about the hassle of planning my day ahead of time since public transport would take away half my day. Two great things about my Fiat is the large trunk space in the back and finding parking so easily. My only rivals at the moment are smart cars and motorbikes!
